DO THE WORK
I have read countless self-help books, attended a multitude of self-development workshops, spent hours in meditation and after all this, I have come to the stark realization that unless we put in the time do something about any situation in which we feel stuck, nothing is going to change.
It reminds me of those hamsters that keep walking around and around the same wheel, only stopping to eat and perform their basic bodily functions. So many of us are like those hamsters (I know, I’m being blunt) we keep on walking around the same treadmill of life, rarely stopping to get off it and take a look inwards.
If only there was more money. If only my spouse/partner would change. If only I lived in a better house. And so it goes. We run off to listen to the next self-help guru hoping they have the answer to all of our life’s burning questions. We return feeling energized, ready to take the next leap into the unknown of our waiting futures. Many will follow through, while most of us will return to the same habitual patterns that keep us stuck.
If there’s one thing this COVID-19 pandemic has taught me, it’s to stop. To stop doing the same things that keep me stuck and most of all to stop making excuses. I keep on reminding those who attend my workshops and do my life coaching experiences, it’s time to take a long hard look inwards and make the changes. It takes courage to step up to the starting line and to make a leap into an unknown future. Yet, that first tiny step is the one conscious event that can lead you to your greatest desires being fulfilled.
At this time, many of us are reawakening to the deepest truth of who we are, because we are living amidst such large-scale changes in the world. It’s time to look within and access the deepest truth of who we are. As the changes around us proceed in rapid progression, we will want to learn to trust our ability to sense what is happening and how we can best respond.
We are no longer living in a predictable world in which we can trust external authority figures and prior ideas about reality to guide us. We need to be able to access the information that will help us navigate these uncertain waters, and the ultimate authority resides in our awareness of ourselves as beings of light.
Do the work.
